New Delhi, April 28: In response to a complaint made by wrestlers alleging sexual harassment by Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the Delhi Police informed the Supreme Court today that it would file an FIR by the end of the day.
Tushar Mehta, the Solicitor General (SG), presented the submission before a bench of the Supreme Court of India consisting of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha.
The case has been continued by the court for a hearing the following week to address whether one of the survivors—a minor—perceives a threat.
The wrestlers are protesting by staging a sit-in at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and calling for Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to be held accountable for the claims of sexual harassment made against him.
