Dhanbad Nov 23: Police have lodged an FIR against two teachers of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Sindri on an allegation of eve teasing a class VII student.  The school has suspended both the teachers.

Sindri police station’s officer in-charge, Suresh Prasad, told the media that on a written complaint of victim’s mother, the FIR has been lodged against both the teachers Shova Ram Majhi and Satyendra Tiwari under section 354, 506, 35 and POCSO Act.

A complaint has also been lodged against the principal and vice-principal of school for suppressing the matter. The school management has set up a probe committee for internal investigation.

“Action will be initiated against all four persons after probe of the allegation,” said police officer Suresh Prasad. As per the written complaint, the incident occurred in school on November 1 and November 2. The teachers allegedly held hand of the girl with ill intention while she was coming out from the washroom. After the incident, school got closed for festivals.

When the school reopened on November 12, victim’s mother informed the principal about the incident and demanded firm action against them.

But as per allegation, Principal Sanjiv Kumar reprimanded and tried putting pressure on her to suppress the matter. However, having seen no action from part of school management, she finally lodged a written complaint in Sindri police station on Monday (November 22).

The school management, on other hand, has denied that any pressure was put on victim’s mother to withdraw the complaint.
