New Delhi, Aug 17: The London Fire Brigade reported that a large fire broke out on Wednesday at Central London Railway Arch in Southwark, causing trains to the area to be stopped and several buildings to be evacuated. Around 70 firefighters hurried to the scene to put out the flames.
Large plumes of smoke could be seen emerging from under the railway arch in video clips of the fire event that the fire brigade uploaded on Twitter and described as being “totally alight.”

The fire incident also caused delays for London Bridge and Southwark overground and Underground trains.
In addition, the Jubilee Line trains on the London Underground network were impacted. According to LFB, smoke seen from a platform at London Bridge underground station was verified to be emanating from the fire in the railway arch.
