Dhanbad Sept 9: Decks have been cleared for the first evening college for working-class women and men in Dhanbad.
Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) has granted permission to Shamsul Huque Memorial Evening Degree College, Chota Ambona, around 29.6 km away from the district headquarters to hold classes from the current session.
The Authority of the college said that students can take admission in B. A and B.com Honours and B.A general course. The Chancellor Portal has been opened from Wednesday and the last date of submitting an application for admission is October 8.
As per affiliation notification of BBMKU, the evening college would start teaching in history, political science, economics, Hindi, English, Urdu, Geography, commerce, Bangla, and general B. A and B. Com subjects.
The College authority said classes in the institution would run from afternoon 3 pm to evening 7 pm. Working women and men can attend classes after completing duty in the day office.
“There is no evening college in Dhanbad. Hundreds of working women and men in Dhanbad, who aspire higher education but unable to achieve owing to engagement in office would now fulfill their ambition from this evening college,” said the authority of Shamsul Huque Memorial Evening Degree College.
