Dhanbad, Dec 23: Five students of different faculties of BIT Sindri have been selected for the prestigious international fame Mitac Globalink Research Internship 2023.
Mitacs Globalink Research Internship is a competitive initiative for international graduates in which top-ranked applicants participate in a 12-week research internship under the supervision of Canadian university faculty members in a variety of academic disciplines, from science, engineering and mathematics to humanities and social sciences.
Giving this information, Dr Ghanshyam, dean cum training and placement cell chairman of BIT Sindri, said this is a great achievement for the institution that its five students have been selected in the global competition for a research internship in different universities in Canada.
The students who have been are:
- Kunal Mahatha of the computer science and engineering department. ETS Montreal University (Montreal province of Canada) has selected him.
- Priyanka Sharma from the electrical engineering department. Simon Fraser University (British Columbia province of Canada) has selected him.
- Preeti Kumari, a student of the chemical engineering department has been selected by the University of Regina, Saskatchewan province of Canada.
- Reyazul Rahman. a student of production and industrial engineering department, has been selected by Ontario Tech University, Oshawa province of Canada.
- Priyanshu Oraon, a student of the information technology department has been picked by Carlton University of Ottawa province of Canada.
Dr Ghanshyam said the Mitacs Global Research Internship is for international graduates from countries Brazil, China, France, Germany,
Under the project, top-ranked applicants participate in a 12-week research internship (from May to October), under the supervision of Canadian University faculty members in a variety of academic disciplines.
“A big achievement is a perfect chance to remind someone how talented, hard-working and deserving they are. We wholeheartedly congratulate and wish the selected students all the best for their future endeavours,” said Dr Ghanshyam.
