New Delhi: After similar incidents involving Air India Express and Vistara, five IndiGo flights received bomb threats on Saturday, leading to emergency landings. Three of these flights, including those operating between Jeddah-Mumbai, Hyderabad-Chandigarh, and Jodhpur-Delhi, have already landed safely at Delhi Airport, sources confirmed.

The affected IndiGo flights are:

  • 6E 17 from Mumbai to Istanbul
  • 6E 11 from Delhi to Istanbul
  • 6E 108 from Hyderabad to Chandigarh
  • 6E 58 from Jeddah to Mumbai
  • 6E 184 from Jodhpur to Delhi

Regarding the Jodhpur-Delhi flight, IndiGo announced that the aircraft landed in Delhi, and all passengers disembarked safely. Authorities are investigating the threats as bomb scares continue to rise this week.

Air India Express Flight Emergency Landing

This incident comes after an Air India Express flight faced a similar bomb threat earlier in the day. Air India Express flight IX-196, en route from Dubai to Jaipur, made an emergency landing at Jaipur International Airport at 1.20 am, after receiving a threat at 12:45 am. The flight carried 189 passengers, and after a thorough check, no suspicious items were found.

Other Bomb Threats This Week

On Wednesday, an Akasa Air flight (QP 1335) from Delhi to Bengaluru received a bomb threat, forcing the plane to return to Delhi. On Tuesday, an Air India flight from Delhi to Chicago was diverted to Canada following a bomb scare, while another from Madurai to Singapore faced a similar threat and was escorted by Singapore Armed Forces jets. An IndiGo flight from Saudi Arabia to Lucknow was also redirected to Jaipur due to a bomb threat on the same day.

Bomb threats have notably increased this week, with several international flights impacted, raising concerns over flight safety and necessitating stringent security measures at airports.
