Jamshedpur, Oct 19: Early morning fog took a toll on early morning visibility today.
The fog disrupted traffic movement at various places including Tata-Ranchi National Highway- 33.
Weathermen said dense fog which descended just after the sunrise remained till 8.30 am reducing visibility to as low as 800 metres at some places.
Fog existed even after 8.30 am at several places especially in southern and central Jharkhand.
Vehicles moving on national and state highways had to switch on headlights even after daybreak because of foggy condition.
Weathermen said the southwest monsoon was yet to withdraw completely from the state.
The withdrawal line of southwest monsoon continued to pass through Ranchi.
Weathermen said conditions were very likely to become favourable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of Jharkhand during next 48 hours.
A forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre suggested light rain or thundershowers activity in southern Jharkhand today.
Statistics revealed that the October rain so far stood at 56 per cent . Against normal rain of 56 mm, the state has so far received around 90 mm of rain.
