Ranchi, March 27: With the onset of the new financial year, several restaurants in the city have released or are planning to release new prices for their menus. Notably, the substantial hike of petrol prices and the Russian-Ukrainian war have affected and increased prices of several food items including flour, sugar, refined oil, pulses, cottage cheese, milk, etc.
As a result, several hotels including Radisson Blu and Capitol Hill have hiked their lunch and dinner rates, which are applicable from March 1. In case of Radisson Blu, the management said, “We have implemented changed rates of our buffet menu, wherein for lunch that was initially served for Rs 1100 plus taxes will now be served for Rs 1200 plus taxes and dinner rates that were Rs 1350 plus taxes will now be for Rs 1500 plus taxes.”
Chef Asit Kundu at Capitol Hotels said, “We have not changed menu rates yet. However, buffet dinner prices have been changed. Earlier we would serve dinner for Rs 800 plus taxes while now it is Rs 900 plus taxes.”
Other restaurants including Oriental Kitchen at Chanakya BNR, and Seventh Heaven will be changing rates from April 1. The Moti Mahal management, regarding the issue said, “We have plans, however we are yet to decide on the new rates.”
Meanwhile, management of restaurants including Kaveri, Kav’s, Jashn, and Prana have said that they have no plans to change rates at their respective food joints.
