Ranchi, Sept.16: An eight-member forensic team reached Sahibganj today to probe into the death of Mahila police station in-charge Rupa Tirkey.
It is expected that the team which reached the district beside river Ganges by Delhi-Farakka Express will open the sealed room of Tirkey at the police line to collect fingers and footprint to proceed further in the investigation.
Earlier, a team of the CBI had questioned four, including a woman officer. The team had gone to Women’s College, Dahla Mohalla in the district to question a lady police officer, Sneh Lata Surin, associated with the case and kept on questioning her for two hours. Three police officials were questioned at the circuit house.
On September 8, the CBI had registered the case following the Jharkhand High Court direction.
Patna branch of CBI is probing the matter under the leadership of Dy SP Vishwambhar Dikshit. The number of the case is 0922021S0002.
Notably, Jharkhand High Court on September 1 directed the CBI to take over the investigation.
The court of Justice S.K.Dwivedi, which found the death case rarest of the rare to hand over to the CBI for probe, observed that the police took it as suicide case though the injury was found on the body.
The court observed that the viscera of the deceased were not preserved for forensic examination and on the very first day of the incident police came to the conclusion of suicide.
