Ranchi, March 3: Former Jharkhand chief minister and BJP national vice president Raghuvar Das called the Hemant Soren government’s budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 a ‘lewd joke’ on the public.
Explaining why he stated that the budget is not only a record of income and expenses but also a means of achieving economic and social goals. If the Hemant government’s budget is tested on the development parameter, it does not qualify as a budget. When the disparity between income and expenditure grows, it does not appear to promote social equality, he adds.
The former chief minister requested a response from the chief minister on the previous fiscal year’s budget (2022-23).
“The Hemant government should explain why the money assigned to the poor was not spent. Who is to blame for this? What steps is the government taking against them?” he questioned.
He claimed that the budget is aimless and was presented by the disabled leadership and government. Das stated that there are no special provisions for education, health, village, poor, farmers, labourers, or women.
“The government’s failure to include any employment provisions in the budget raises concerns about their future. Nobody is in the dark about the state’s health situation. People are taking to the streets to make their demands. The government is not keeping its word. This budget is the government’s lewd joke on the public. The government has yet to determine what the requirements and priorities are. On the way, which way should I walk? This is why all of our NDA government’s schemes for the poor have been discontinued,” Das said, adding that the state government’s biggest achievement so far has been false assurances and promises.
