New Delhi, May 26: Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has resigned from the company’s board of directors. Dorsey had been reported to return as Twitter’s CEO, but he ended rumours by announcing that he will never return.
Elon Musk, who is currently attempting to take over Twitter, shares Dorsey’s views. The $44 billion acquisition, however, has been put on hold for a variety of reasons.
Dorsey is presently the CEO of Block, a financial payments platform that was previously known as Square. After Musk’s takeover, Dorsey refuted claims that he would return as Twitter’s CEO. In fact, he stated once again that no one should be the CEO of Twitter.
In November 2021, Dorsey resigned as Twitter’s CEO. Although he did not specify why he left, it is widely assumed that the Twitter board of directors is planning to replace him in 2020, citing his lack of creativity and split attention.
“After almost 16 years of having a role at our company, from co-founder to CEO to Chair to Exec Chair to Interim CEO to CEO, I decided it is finally time for me to leave. I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders,” Dorsey had said about his resignation in an email to his employees.
