Jamshedpur, Aug 21: In a major breakthrough, the Seraikela-Kharsawan police solved the jewellery store loot case of Adityapur by arresting four criminals on Monday.

Those arrested were identified as Ashish Kumar Singh, Anuj Kumar Jha, Ritesh Jha and Pintu Kumar, all residents of Bihar.

While arresting the looters, the police seized two pistols, including a sophisticated one, live cartridges, two gold chains and a gold-weighing machine.

Revealing about the breakthrough, the Seraikela-Kharsawan Superintendent of Police, Vimal Kumar said this was blind a case with no apparent clue to the criminals involved in the crime.

“We have succeeded to solve the case by arresting four persons. May be there are greater number of people involved in the high profile loot. We will, therefore, take all the four arrested persons into police remand soon for unraveling the case completely,” said Kumar while talking to the newsmen at a press conference this evening.

The senior police officer informed that all the police officers who worked day and night to crack the case will be rewarded soon.

A gang of three criminals had decamped with gold ornaments worth over Rs 30 lakhs from a jewellery store, Iswarlal Jewellers at Gamharia market under the Adityapur thana area on August 6 morning. The criminals who had covered their face had visited the shop on the pretext of ornaments-shopping for a bride.
