Dhanbad, June 18: Four girls from Dhanbad Public School (DPS) have been selected in the 16-member squad for National Yoga Olympiad being organised by National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) from June 18 to 20.
The selected students are Rani Pandit, Riya Rawat, Priyanshi Agrawal and Raj Bandani. Apart from these four, Pinki Singh and Shashikant Pandey have been nominated by CBSE as coach for the team.
CBSE official said that a total of 16 students from CBSE schools across the country have been selected in National CBSE team. Besides four students of Jharkhand, four girls and four boys from Dhruwa Global International School Sangamner (Maharashtra) and four boys from Acharyakulam Haridwar (Uttrakhand) have been selected.
Shashikant Pandey said that in the three days championship organised by NCERT, a total of 52 teams comprising of 750 boys and girls would participate. One team each from all states and eight teams of national institutes have been invited for the event.
The official said that girls and boys of three schools across the country i.e., Dhanbad Public School (DPS), Dhruwa Global International School Sangamner (Maharashtra) and Acharyakulam Haridwar (Uttrakhand), had won medals in CBSE Yoga championship. So on basis of their performance in previous championship they have been selected for National Yoga Olympiad.
DPS principal Sharda Mahajan, vice-principal Suparna Biswa, senior teachers Shovit Kumar, Sunita Sinha, Shambhunath Agrawal, Anil Agrawal and others congratulated the students for their selection in the national team.
