Ranchi, July 26: Nucleus Mall owner Vishnu Agrawal, whom the ED had summoned on July 17 to appear today at the probe agency’s regional office for questioning in army and other land scam, did not turn up.
Agrawal cited religious reasons behind his inability to turn up. He informed the probe agency through an email that due to Puja at his home he will not be able to turn up for questioning.
After Agrawal did not turn up the ED issued another summons asking him to turn up on July 31.
Earlier on July 17, he did not turn up before the probe agency for questioning citing his poor health as the reason.
Agrawal is accused of buying one acre of land on Cheshire Home Road on the basis of fake documents. The ED has arrested many including an IAS officer Chhavi Ranjan in this connection. Those arrested included those who helped in generation of fake documents and then paving the path for sale and purchase of land.
