New Delhi, March 29: The price of petrol was increased by 80 paise per litre, while the price of diesel was increased by 70 paise on Tuesday, bringing the total increase in rates in the last week to Rs 4.80 per litre.
According to a price notification from state fuel retailers, petrol will now cost 100.21 per litre in Delhi, up from 99.41 before, and diesel will cost 91.47 per litre, up from 90.77 previously.
Petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai have been raised by 85 paise and 75 paise, respectively. People in the financial capital will now have to spend 115.04 dollars for gasoline and 99.25 dollars for diesel.
In Chennai, the new rates for petrol and diesel are 105.94 and 96.00, respectively, while in Kolkata, the revised rates for petrol and diesel are 109.68 and 94.62, respectively. Petrol costs 105.62 per litre in Bengaluru, while diesel costs 89.70 per litre. In Hyderabad, a litre of petrol will cost Rs113.61 and a litre of diesel will cost Rs99.84.
Rates have been raised across the country, and they differ from state to state based on the amount of municipal taxation. Notably, this is the eighth price rise since the end of a four-and-a-half-month rate review break on March 22.
