Ranchi, Mar 1: The G20 Research and Innovation Initiative Gathering (RIIG) Conference set to be organised to discuss ‘Materials for Sustainable Energy’ on March 2 is looking to entertain several speakers from all over the world.
The programme will begin with a welcome address by India Chair Dr Srivari Chandrasekhar, Secretary, DST; which will be followed by Indonesia and Brazil. The opening remarks will be delivered by DG, CSIR and Secretary, DSIR Dr N Kalaiselvi, while the address will be delivered by Dr V K Saraswat, Member, NITI Aayog and Dr G Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Adviser to Defense Minister. Meanwhile, Dr Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Institute Professor, IIT Madras President and Board Member, IITM Research Park is set to deliver the Plenary Lecture.
Session I of the Conference will be on ‘21st Century Challenges Related to Energy Materials & Devices’, the Chairman for which will be Dr R Gopalan, while Dr K Ramesha, CSIR-CECRI is set to be the Rapporteur. Prof. Vijayamohanan K Pillai, Chair, Chemistry and Dean (R&D), IISER, Tirupati will discuss ‘Materials for Sustainable Energy Storage: Need for Intelligent/Smart Materials’; Mahesh Godi, Founder & CEO, Godi India Pvt. Ltd. Will discuss ‘Materials for Sustainable Energy’; and Dr Rahul Walawalkar, President & MD, Indian Energy Storage Alliance is set to talk on ‘Public-Private Partnerships to Accelerate Clean Energy Technology Innovation in the 21st Century’.
Session II on ‘Solar Energy Utilisation and Photovoltaic Technology’ will be chaired by Chairman Dr Ashok Jhunjhunwala, while Dr Suraj Soman, CSIR-NIIST will be Rapporteur. Here Prof. Satishchandra Ogale, Director, RISE, TCG-CREST, Kolkata; Emeritus Professor, IISER, Pune will present a paper on ‘Advances in Photovoltaics: Materials, Devices, Systems and Applications’, while Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki, Professor, IIT Bombay; Founder, Energy Swaraj Foundation; Solar Energy Brand Ambassador to Govt. of Madhya Pradesh will speak on ‘Fundamentals of Using Energy Sustainably’.
Session III of the Conference on ‘Materials and Processes for Green Energy’ will be chaired by Chairman Dr Rahul Walawalkar and the Rapporteur will be Dr C S Gopinath, CSIR-NCL. Here, Dr Ashish Lele, Director, CSIR-NCL, Pune will discuss ‘Materials and Process Innovations for Green Hydrogen’; Dr Anjan Ray, Director, CSIR-IIP, Dehradun will talk about ‘Materials and Processes for Green Energy’; while Rajeev Sharma, DDG Standardization-1, BIS, Delhi will present a paper on ‘Standardization in the Field of Electric Vehicle’.
On the other hand, Session IV will be Panel Discussion with Dr Anjan Ray as Chairman and Dr A S Prakash, CSIR-CECRI as Rapporteur. The panellists will include Prof. R R Sonde, Professor, Dept. of Chemical Engg., IIT Delhi; Dr R Gopalan, Associate Director, ARCI, Chennai; and other foreign delegates. This session will be followed by Valedictory Session for closing remarks.
Meanwhile, on March 3, all the dignitaries will be taken to Patratu Lake Resort for sightseeing and lunch in Patratu.
