GAIL starts supply of PNG clean fuel to industries in Adityapur

Jamshedpur, Sept 6: GAIL Gas Limited today commenced Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supply to its first industrial customer  Omni Auto Limited in the Adityapur Industrial Area (Phase – 7), the state’s largest industry hub.

Further, more industrial units will be supplied gas shortly in Phase 2, 4,6 and 7, said GAIL officials here today.

Natural Gas is a versatile fuel which is gaining immense popularity for industrial usage.

Industries require a continuous and reliable natural gas supply with can provide benefits to efficiency and economy.

A broad range of industries like chemicals, food processing, engineering goods, power generation, glass industries etc. are using industrial PNG.

Gas is used by these industries for applications like heating-boiler, thermic fluid heaters, furnaces; cooling-absorption chillers; power-gas engines, gas turbines; process- for dryers, furnace, oven etc.

GAIL Gas has laid about 300 km of pipeline network in the Adityapur-Gamaharia area and has been supplying gas to domestic customers in Adityapur and Gamharia.

The company has also commissioned eight CNG stations in Adityapur, Kandra, Seraikela, Chaibasa and NH-33 and is planning to add more.

Notably, GAIL Gas Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of GAIL (India) Limited, has been implementing the City Gas Distribution Project in the Seraikela-Kharsawan and West Singhbhum districts of Jharkhand.
