Dhanbad, Nov 25: Anurag Kashyap’s classic feature film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ has turned into reality as gang wars have ensued for supremacy on turf of  Wasseypur, a minority community dominated pocket in Dhanbad.

The difference between previous and present gang wars is that for the first time, an alleged gang of Wasseypur has taken responsibility of the murder of Nanhey Khan by uploading a video and letter on social media.

Property dealer Mahtab Alam alias Nanhey Khan was shot dead by unidentified killers late in the afternoon (3.30 pm) of Wednesday in Alinagar of Wasseypur under Bank More police station.

Within a few hours of incident, one of the absconding gang leaders Prince Khan of Wasseypur, who is facing several cases of murder and extortion, released a video on social media claiming responsibility of Nanhey’s murder.

In his video, Prince Khan has claimed that since Fahim Khan gang had murdered his close property dealer Lala Khan seven months ago in Wasseypur, he has taken a revenge by killing Fahim’s supporter Nanhey Khan at the same place.

Nanhey Khan was said to be close friend of notorious Fahim Khan who is presently lodged in Hazaribagh jail facing life term in connection of several murders and extortion cases.

In May 2021, Lala Khan, a supporter of Prince Khan was killed in broad daylight in Wasseypur. A complaint was lodged against supporters of Fahim Khan.

Notably, Prince Khan is the own nephew (sister’s son) of Fahim Khan.  Gang wars began between Prince and son’s of Fahim for supremacy on Wasseypur turf after Fahim Khan went jail.

Prince Khan in his video has also claimed that he is the undisputed crime lord of Wasseypur and will not rest until the family and supporters of Fahim Khan are eliminated.

A senior police official probing Nanhey Khan murder case said that police have not seen the video yet. “Investigation is being done and police would act on the basis of facts and not on any video clipping uploaded on social media that has no authenticity,” the police officer said.
