Lucknow, June, 7: An unidentified assailant shot and killed feared mobster Sanjeev Jeeva on Wednesday outside a court in Lucknow. Sanjeev Jeeva was killed and a small girl was hurt during the event, which took place inside the courthouse.
A close associate of Mukhtar Ansari named Sanjeev Jeeva was charged with the murder of BJP leader Brahmhadatt Dwivedi, of which Mukhtar Ansari is also an accused. For a court appearance, he was taken to Lucknow.
Initial reports indicate that the attackers entered the courtroom disguised as lawyers before shooting Sanjeev Jeeva. The Lucknow Police have detained the assailant who killed Sanjeev Jeeva.
The attack also injured a police constable, who was taken to the Lucknow Civil Hospital for medical attention.
After the shooting, a large police presence has been placed in the Lucknow court.
