Daltonganj, Mar 22: Town police nabbed the younger brother Gaurav Singh of the gangster Dabloo Singh who was remanded in judicial custody today in Daltonganj.

Sub-divisional police officer Sadar  K Vijay Shankar at his press conference today presented Gaurav Singh ‘without the mandatory face covered of the accused Gaurav’.

Sources said that police did it deliberately to spread a message that there is no immunity from law even if one is a brother or any relative of any dreaded gangster-like Dabloo Singh and law takes its own course.

Incidentally, the arrested gangster’s brother Gaurav works in the Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation.

Police recovered 2 iPhone sets from Gaurav.

Police found Gaurav as the ‘cash manager’ of the gangster Dabloo Singh.

Gaurav used to handle all expenses of people associated with Dabloo Singh who are languishing in jail like legal expenses, family expenses and even jail expenses.

It was this jail expenses that saw a barrage of questions from the media persons as to how Gaurav was reaching out to the jail inmates bearing their expenses ostensibly for their ease of living in the jail.

Sources said that it was on 3/6/2020 that one other gangster Kunal Singh was shot dead in Daltonganj in daylight. The name of the gang of Dabloo Singh had surfaced then and since then police are ‘peeling off’ the gang of Dabloo Singh by arresting his men, the latest his own younger brother Gaurav.

Police officials said that Kunal Singh was bumped off by criminals who were handsomely paid by the gangster Dabloo Singh and there his younger brother Gaurav had played a key role.

Gaurav had no sign of any stress or anxiety on his face. He was calm when presented before the media persons at the press conference.

A team of three police officials led by K Vijay Shankar nabbed him. Others in the team were officers in charge of the town police station A K Mahatha, Incharge town outpost 2 Ramjeet Singh and in charge of town outpost 1 R S Rana.
