Gumla, May 4: A pickup van crashed in the Kamdara police station area on Wednesday morning. Ganja was loaded into the pickup van that was being taken from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh to Patna. Pickup van number BR-03K-6098 went out of control and crashed near the Bank of India Kamdara. The driver and the sub-driver were partially injured in the incident and started running after the traffic was exposed. With the help of the villagers, they were both caught near Karbala Garden.
More than 100 packets of ganja have been recovered from the crashed pickup vehicle, which is worth lakhs of rupees. The arrested driver, Jaikant Kumar Chaudhary, is a resident of Bihar. He said that at present he studies in Mehndiganj Hakimganj district in Patna and, along with one of his friends, Santosh Kumar, had left Bilaspur for Patna on Tuesday morning at 4 am in a pickup vehicle. But, on the way, the vehicle crashed and both were caught. The pickup van belongs to the Bhojpur district of Bihar.
