Ranchi, Sept 1: The court of Garhwa Principal District Judge has sentenced the headmaster and a teacher of the Rajkiyakrit Balika Uchch Vidyalaya for three years finding them guilty of negligence in filling the matriculation examination form of a student.
Sanju Kumari, a 10th class student had been deprived of appearing in the matriculation examination, held by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) in 2007.
The court has announced the punishment for headmaster Harinath Singh and teacher Rakesh Kumar of three years in jail and a Rs 10,000 fine for both of them.
The case, in a nutshell, is that Sanju Kumari, daughter of Kashinath Shukla resident of Vinushpur, Garhwa had filled the form of matriculation exam in the year 2007. When she went to the school to collect her admit card after the examination date was announced, she noticed that her admit card had not arrived from the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC). The next day when she went to the school to confirm, she was told exactly that. After this, she sent an application to the deputy commissioner and sought permission to sit in the exam. After giving permission to take the exam to Sanju, the deputy commissioner ordered an inquiry into this regard.
After this, she took the exam but after two papers, it came to light that the examination form of Sanju hadn’t been sent to the JAC. Thereafter, she wasn’t allowed to take the rest of the exam. It wasted her whole year.
Against this, Sanju’s father Kashinath Shukla filed a case against the principal and the examination controller in the police station. After the FIR was registered, both were found guilty in the investigation.
After the case was heard in the court, the chief judicial magistrate convicted the principal Harinath Singh and Rakesh Kumar for wasting Sanju Kumari’s one year.
The duo, thereafter, challenged the CJM court’s order before the PDJ Court, which has upheld the previous order.
