New Delhi, Aug 26: Ghulam Nabi Azad is expected to start a new political party after resigning from the Congress today and criticising the Gandhis, particularly Rahul Gandhi.

According to reports, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir would want to introduce his party on home soil.

“I will go to Jammu and Kashmir. I will form my own party in the state, will check on the national possibility later,” he said.

Notably, elections are due in Jammu and Kashmir later this year.

According to sources close to Azad, he is eager to make a statement in the area before the Jammu and Kashmir poll. Days after turning down a crucial position in the Jammu and Kashmir Congress, Azad (73) resigned from the party, claiming that his suggestions for the group had been disregarded.
