Ranchi, Oct.13: The Jharkhand government had to cut a sorry figure before the Muslim community in the state after Giridih DC Naman Priyesh Lakra and Superintendent of Police Amit Renu in their joint administrative order used the term ‘Muslim Kriyavadi Sangathano (Muslim functional organization)’ with CPI (Maoist), PWG, different extremist organization saying that the chief minister has a threat from them.
The order was issued on Wednesday and the above-mentioned terms were mentioned in the letter to give direction for proper security arrangements to concerned officials during chief minister’s visit to the district to start the “Aapki Yojna Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar” programme.

After the copy of the joint order became viral throughout the state through social media, a situation of uneasiness developed, especially among the Muslim community which has always supported the Sorens in the formation of the government. After the administration realized its mistake, it amended the order by deleting the objectionable words.
Congress MLA Irfan Ansari, confirmed the situation saying that the administration amended the administrative order sensing the gravity of its impact on the Muslim community.
He said that the way the district administration had brought the Muslim society into the category of extremists was not tolerable.
“Minority society had played an important role in forming the Hemant government and the same community was humiliated by some BJP and RSS mentality functionaries. This order was sending a wrong message to the youth,” Ansari said.
Sharing the corrected copy, Ansari said though the order has been amended but it is the duty of the state government to identify the erring officials due to whom the state government had to cut a sorry figure.
“Some of the people intentionally want to tarnish the image of the government. In such a situation, there is a demand from his government that they should take cognizance of this matter and take appropriate action by identifying such officials,” he said.
A police official said a copy of this joint order was confidential but how it went viral is a matter of investigation.
Superintendent of police of the district Amit Renu could not be available for his comment on the matter. Calls were given to him at 12.56 pm, 2.19 pm and 4.07 pm but due to his involvement in some meetings, he expressed his inability to talk. State police spokesperson A V Homkar was also busy in a meeting. DC Lakra too could not be contacted for his comment.
