Notably, Palekar is a lawyer and social worker, hails from the OBC Bhandari community. In the 2017, AAP failed to win a single seat elections despite running an ambitious campaign, pitching 39 candidates for a 40-seat strong assembly.
“I’m guaranteeing you a corruption-free Goa. We will get back Goa’s lost glory, a Goa everyone dreamt of. I will keep every word that I have said and that is my guaranty,” said Amit Palekar.
Interestingly, P Chidambaram, a senior Congress politician, stated on Monday that the Goa assembly elections are a struggle between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party, the state’s ruling party.
