Dumka, Dec.3: The body of a non-teaching employee, Balmukund Dubey, of Godda College has been recovered from the railway track near Godda railway station this morning who allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train.

The harrowing episode occurred after a tribal woman filed an FIR against the deceased college employee with the Godda women police station on Wednesday, accusing him of attempting to molest her.

The woman in question had alleged that Dubey went to her home on the pretext of procuring some documents of her daughter for admission in Godda College when he allegedly attempted to harass her.

The alleged lecherous conduct of the deceased college employee, according to the FIR, had taken place on November 18 at the complainant’s home under the town police station area when he was severely beaten up by her neighbours.

The audio recording of the thrashing along with a telephonic conversation between Dubey and the complainant woman held earlier had gone viral in social media for the last couple of days with the students union having staged a demonstration at the Godda College on Thursday.

The wife of the deceased college employee, however, too had lodged a separate FIR against the complainant woman and others with the town police station on Thursday, leveling charges of extortion from her husband on a false pretext.

The sudden twist into the entire controversy in terms of the recovery of the body of the College employee has sparked a shock wave in the entire town with the family members of the deceased having been terming his death to be the instance of murder.

Police have sent the body of the deceased to the Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

Godda SP Y S Ramesh, meanwhile, could not be contacted for his version of the matter despite several attempts.
