Godda Police arrest seven men involved in gang rape of minor

Dumka, June 1: A total of 7 out of 11 who were accused of gang-raping a 17-year-old minor and uploading her video on social media have been arrested by Godda police on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the Rajabhitta police station area of Godda district on Monday when the girl was taken to an abandoned place by the culprits and was raped.

However, the girl, who was threatened with dire consequences by the culprits, narrated the happenings to her mother who lodged a complaint in this connection on Tuesday.

Godda SP Nathu Singh Meena instantly constituted a police team led by the sub divisional police officer (SDPO) Anand Mohan Singh and comprising officers in-charge of four police stations.

“Seven out of a total eleven accused have been arrested and sent to jail on Tuesday,” Godda SP said and added that the medical examination of the survivor minor was performed at Sadar Hospital.

SP further added that attempts are being made to bring all the four absconding accused to the book.

Those arrested include Ruben Malto, Ashish Malto, Sukumar Malto, Vipin Malto (all belonging to Kusumghata village under Rajabhitta police station), Amar Malto, Ankit Malto (both belonging to Khairibari village under Sundarpahadi police station) and Samir Malto of Chandana village under Rajabhitta police station.
