New Delhi, Aug 2: Rahul Gandhi claimed on Tuesday that because the government is giving its cronies ‘free money’ and wearing ‘blindfolds of hubris,’ it will be unable to detect inflation.
The former Congress president published tweets on Twitter and Facebook criticising the administration a day after the Lok Sabha discussion on price increases.
“Well, how will they see inflation? Wearing blindfolds of arrogance, they are selling the country’s property in ‘free fund’ to ‘friends’,” he said in a tweet.
He also said that the BJP-led government, busy celebrating ‘Amrit kaal’, said in the House that there is no ‘mehngai’ in the country. He also provided a table that contrasted the costs of necessities from 2019 to 2022.
pic.twitter.com/jXRHbnVY6t

In addition, Rahul Gandhi’s words were a jab at BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s statements made during the debate. Speaking in Hindi, Dubey said that Prime Minister Modi provided 80 crore hungry people with food from a ‘free fund’ despite difficult circumstances.
“The country is battling an epidemic of unemployment with crores of families left with no means of a stable income but the government is spending billions just to polish the image of an ‘arrogant king’, Rahul Gandhi said in a lengthy Facebook post.
He claimed that during the current Monsoon session of Parliament, Congress has made an effort to urge the government to respond to citizens’ inquiries. However, everyone witnessed how the House was postponed and opposition MPs were suspended and detained for protesting.
