Gujarat polls: PM Modi, Amit Shah cast vote in Ahmedabad

New Delhi, Dec 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi voted in the second round of the Gujarat Assembly elections on Monday and expressed his gratitude to the people of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi for their spirited celebrations of the festival of democracy.

The Indian Election Commission was praised by the Prime Minister for holding the election in peace.

After casting his ballot at Ranip’s Nishan Public School in Ahmedabad, PM Modi made these statements and briefly engaged the media.

“The festival of democracy has been celebrated with great pomp by the people of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. I want to thank the people of the country. I also want to congratulate Election Commission for conducting elections peacefully,” PM Modi said.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with members of his family including his son and BCCI secretary Jay Shah also casted votes at the AMC Sub-Zonal Office in Naranpura of Ahmedabad.

“I appeal to everyone to vote, especially the first-time voters – the young girls and boys should vote,” said Union Home Minister Amit Shah, after casting his vote.
