New Delhi, Jan 1: A prayer gathering was held at Vadnagar, Gujarat, in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben, two days after her passing. The prayer meeting started at 9 am and will end at 12 pm, according to news agency ANI.
At the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad, where she was receiving care for age-related issues, Heeraben Modi, 100, passed away on Friday. After her condition deteriorated, she was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.
At Gandhinagar’s ‘Muktidham’ cremation in Sector 30, the last rituals were conducted. PM Modi initially paid respects to his mother at her Raysan home before bringing the coffin containing the mortal remains to the crematorium to perform the final rites.
