Gwalior, Sep 26: In relation to the Gurjar Mahakumbh violence that broke out in the district, Gwalior police have filed FIRs at five different police stations against 25 identified and 700 unknown individuals, a police official said on Tuesday.
Nine persons in all have also been arrested far, and the case has been lodged under numerous sections of the law.
“FIRs have been registered against a total of 25 named and 700 unknown persons at five police stations in the district. Two FIRs have been registered in Padav police station, two FIRs have been registered in University police station and one FIR in Bilua police station,” said Rishikesh Meena, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP, Crime Branch Gwalior).
Public representatives delivered provocative comments at the meeting’s venue in the district on Monday. He said that because they had also challenged the government, a named FIR had been filed against them as well.
Notably, the Gurjar Community held a Mahapanchayat (meeting) on Monday in the district’s Phoolbagh. After that, thousands of other people also made their way to the Collectorate to submit a memorandum. They caused a disturbance, vandalised vehicles, and hurled stones, injuring some police officers in the process. The police used tear gas, lathi charges and other forms of retaliation to subdue the situation.
