Varanasi, May 23: The Varanasi district court finished hearing arguments in the Kashi Vishwanath temple-Gyanvapi mosque controversy on Monday and reserved its order for tomorrow.
A civil suit was heard in the matter by distinguished Judge AK Vishvesha.
The hearing began days after the Supreme Court stated that it would not interfere with the Gyanvapi mosque survey and urged the lower court to determine whether the Hindu side’s lawsuit was maintainable.
According to authorities, just 23 persons were allowed inside the courthouse during the hearing, including 19 counsels and four petitioners.
Ajay Mishra, a former court commissioner, was not permitted to enter the courtroom.
