Lucknow, April 9: The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office’s (CMO) Twitter account was hacked in the early hours of Saturday.

The UP CMO’s Twitter account (@CMOfficeUP) currently has four million followers.

Unknown hackers exposed the issue when they hijacked the UP CMO Twitter account to write a tutorial titled “How to turn your BAYC/MAYC animated on Twitter.”

A cartoonist’s picture was also utilised as a profile photo on the UP CMO account. More than 400-500 tweets were sent from the UP CMO official Twitter account after it was hacked by hackers.

The account was partially recovered after approximately 4 hours, and the tweets written by the hackers after they took over the account were erased.

The UP government said in a tweet that after a cyber expert investigates the situation, the harshest action will be taken against those guilty.

साइबर एक्सपर्ट्स द्वारा प्रकरण की जांच के बाद जिम्मेदारों के विरुद्ध कठोरतम कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
