Jamshedpur, May 25: Several pockets in north-eastern parts of Jharkhand is expected to experience hailstorm today, warned weathermen at IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
The vulnerable districts included Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur and Sahibganj.
The Ranchi Meteorological Centre also issued Do’s and Don’ts for the people of those vulnerable districts to follow in case of a hailstorm.
Hailstorms usually cause damage to property and vegetation.
The Meteorological Centre also issued a general alert of thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by strong surface wind (speed: 40-50 kmph) at isolated places over the state today.
Such general alert was also issued for the next three days over Jharkhand.
Satellite pictures suggested that a cyclonic circulation over Bihar was today lying over Jharkhand extending up to 1.5 Km above the mean sea level.
A trough was also running from northwest Uttar Pradesh to the West Bengal coast across south Uttar Pradesh and south Bihar.
Weathermen said the day temperature is expected to witness a slight fall in the next two days, thereafter there won’t be much variations in maximum reading.
