Patna, Jan 8: Danish Rizwan, the main accused in the Sushma Baraik shootout has been expelled from the post of national principal general secretary and national spokesperson from HAM (Hindustani Awam Morcha) headed by former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Rizwan is accused of attacking Ranchi’s Sushma Badaik on December 13, 2022, near Sahajanand Chowk of Argora police station area. Rizwan was arrested on Thursday by Jharkhand Police with the help of Bihar Police and is a resident of Tari Mohalla of Ara Town Police Station. Rizwan had gone to Arrah Civil Court on Thursday in connection with a case. Meanwhile, the town police and the Ranchi police nabbed him as soon as he came out of the court.

Notably, as per earlier information, a woman had also accused Rizwan of rape. According to the woman, when she came to Patna 11 years ago, Rizwan was a TV journalist and had raped her. Later this woman went to jail and in the jail itself, she came to know about her pregnancy. Now, this woman alleges that Danish is the father of her child. She is demanding a DNA test as well. At the same time, Danish Rizwan has demanded a fair inquiry into the allegations against him.

Meanwhile, an investigation into the shootout case revealed that shooters hired by Danish Rizwan first attempted to kill Badaik in November in Ranchi. However, they could not find a suitable place or opportunity to kill her. Lastly, shooters cornered her at Sahjanand Chowk under Argora police station. She suffered two bullets and is recovering at a city-based hospital.

Some local people of Ranchi were also allegedly involved to provide a safe passage to shooters and they have been identified by the police.
