New Delhi, Aug 4: Former Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi Kuldeep Bishnoi joined BJP in the presence of Haryana CM ML Khattar on Thursday.
Kuldeep Bishnoi (53) resigned from the state Assembly on Wednesday after being kicked out of all party positions by Congress for casting a cross-vote in the Rajya Sabha elections in June.
Notably, Bishnoi represented the Adampur district of Haryana. Since the Congress passed over him for the position of its Haryana unit president during a makeover earlier this year, the four-time MLA and twice-elected MP has been pouting.
After the Congress hand-selected Bhupinder Singh Hooda for the Chief Minister’s position following the party’s resounding victory in the assembly elections, Bishnoi and his father Bhajan Lal launched the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) in 2007.
Later, the Haryana Janhit Congress formed an alliance with the BJP and two other parties, and the three of them ran together in Haryana’s 2014 Lok Sabha elections. They were set to run together in the assembly elections as well, but the alliance broke down.
