Ranchi, April 1: A young man from Haryana, Piyush Kumar, jumped from the third floor of a city hotel in Doranda, Jade Square.
Though the reason behind the doing so is not clear so far, officer-in-charge of Doranda police station Ramesh Kumar said primary investigation suggested that he attempted suicide after some tiff with his girlfriend with whom he was staying in the hotel. “We are questioning the girl to get details,” he said.
A police official at the Doranda police station said the injured, who fell down on a car, sustained head injuries and was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for treatment. At RIMS, the police official said, his condition is stable despite head injury.
Another police official said that Kumar had developed friendship with the girl over phone and reached Ranchi for a meeting. “He had planned marriage and apparently something went wrong while finalizing the same,” the police official said.
