Hazaribag, July 2: A bus overturned at a sharp turn on GT road in Chouparan early morning today killing one on the spot and injuring 12. All the injured were brought to the Barhi Subdivisional Hospital and provided treatment. Three, whose conditions were stated to be critical were referred to Sheikh Bhikari Medical College and Hospital (SBMCH) Hazaribag.
Sources said residents of Ghoshi village of Jehanabad district in Bihar were going to Rajrappa temple in Ramgarh but near Pipra village on GT road in Chouparan, the driver lost control over the vehicle where work is going on to convert this stretch into six lanes. The bus overturned at around 3:40 AM today killing a 20-year-old Sikandar Kumar on the spot. A dozen of other passengers sustained injuries.
Hearing the screams and shout for help, Pipra villagers rushed to help the injured passengers. They informed the police and sent the injured ones to Barhi Subdivisional Hospital.
A Police officer said one death was reported and the condition of three others is stated to be critical and undergoing treatment at SBMCH in town.
