Hazaribag, Nov 4: A resident of Baratand village in Barhi block, 24-year-old Shiv Kumar Das died of Dengue in Pune, sending shockwaves in the area.
Representative of local mukhiya Chotan Thakur said Barhi has many industrial units and when despite all efforts of Das to get a job here failed, he went to Pune but died there from Dengue.
Relatives said Das fell sick a few days ago and contacted the doctors in Pune. His report confirmed Dengue and he got admitted to a local hospital. But his condition didn’t improve, making him leave the hospital in a hurry. He caught a train for Hazaribag but near Pune station, his condition deteriorated. The RPF jawans took him to the nearest hospital but he was declared brought dead. His body was kept in the local mortuary and when his identity was established, his family was informed yesterday evening.
Thakur said Barhi is situated on GT road and NH-33 making it an important place. The place is developing into an industrial belt due to many small and big units. “We all know that Das had tried a lot to get work in Barhi only but after losing hope, he went out and died of Dengue. I can only request to those running factories in Barhi to hire local youths which will put a check on migration,” he added.
Das’s dead body is coming to his home by road and will reach by late evening.
