Hazaribag, Feb 16: The transportation of coal in Chatti Bariatu coal mines will start soon as the tripartite meeting ended with NTPC and administrative officials agreeing for compensation against acquired illegal land. Barkagaon MLA Amba Prasad was also present at the meeting.

Notably, villagers have halted the coal transportation from the mines of NTPC in Keredari since January 4 with all efforts to pacify villagers failed. Amba and her father former agriculture minister Yogendra Saw also supported villagers making the situation tense.

The officials today reached there after which the tripartite talk began. Former Barkagaon MLA Loknath Mahto demanded compensation for the GM land. Amba asked to withdraw the false cases lodged against agitating villagers. She also demanded all assurance in writing.

Circle officer of Keredari, Rakesh Kumar Tiwary said all promises made will be issued officially by NTPC GM Faiz Taiyab and will be put on the notice board of the NTPC’s office tomorrow.

As all sides agreed, transportation of coal will start from these mines in the next few days, officials hoped.
