Hazaribag, April.28: In a case related to violation of the election code of conduct, Union Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi has been held guilty and fined Rs 200. The Minister today appeared in the court of Judge Mariyam Hembrom of the MP/MLA court.
The court on the two sureties of Rs 5000 each, granted bail to Annapurna who is the MP of Koderma. Advocates Bhaiya Navnish and Bhaiya Sandeep Kumar said they will appeal in the court of the district judge. A case numbered 66/19 was registered against her at the Koderma police station.
This case is of the 2019 parliamentary election. As a BJP candidate, she was charged with entering a polling centre to cast her vote by wearing a symbol of the party.
Total of 11 witnesses were cross-examined after which the court passed the verdict today.
