Hazaribag, March 10: The administrative officials of Hazaribag conducted a surprise inspection of the shops of the public distribution system operated by the supply department on Friday.
Notably, Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay made a surprise inspection of the PDS shop of Arshad Raza in Mandai Kala, Hazaribag under the Sadar block.
During the inspection, the online stock and the actual current stock of the PDS shop were checked. Along with this, the ration card holders were instructed to check the quantity and quality of the ration.
Sahay directed Arshad to give food grains in the right quantity and on time.
She also instructed the ration dealer to display the names of the members of the vigilance committee formed at the dealer level along with their mobile numbers on a big board outside the shop for transparency and monitoring of the PDS system.
In this sequence, the number of cardholders in the PDS shop as well as wheat, rice, sugar, salt and distributed ration stock received till January and February was matched. Assistant Collector Shatabdi Majumdar was also present along with the deputy commissioner.
