Hazaribag, May.15: Hazaribag DC Nancy Sahay and SP Manoj Ratan Chauthe held a meeting with the representatives of various companies for reviewing security after the murder of Ritwik company general manager Sharad Kumar. The two officials shared their views and passed instructions regarding the safety of the officers associated with the projects of various companies operating in the Hazaribagh district. Expressing grief over the murder of an official of the Chatti Bariatu mining project by criminals a few days back, Chauthe termed it as unfortunate. The district administration termed the incident as sad. He further stressed on providing all possible help for the smooth operation of every project, while emphasising on creating a better environment.

Chauthe told the officers of all the companies that after the Keredari incident, information about the incident of threats and demand of money by the miscreants were being received. So without panic, inform the local police and district administration about it, he told them. Police will take strict action against the intention of spreading fear among the people. All the projects are being operated at the national level so we have to work with special vigilance in its operation. The SP said that complaints have also been received for creating unnecessary problems by the contractors in various projects. He said that in the past, the district administration has also corresponded with the companies on many points from the security point of view. He said at that time instructions were given to keep private security guards, installation of CCTVs in all important places, proper arrangement of lighting and fencing in coal dump yards but they have not been implemented yet. He asked them to take the guidelines issued by the district administration seriously.

The incident of coal theft from the coal dump yard is carried out at night by the people involved in the illegal coal business.  For this, the DC and the SP suggested having strong fencing all around as well as installing moving CCTV cameras in those areas so that every activity is monitored. They asked the officials of the companies not to inform anyone about their pre-scheduled program/tour regarding security.  The officials also instructed to regularly review the explosives/magazines used in mining operations.  The DC said that the district administration is ready to provide all possible help. But bring all kinds of information into consideration, they added. Today we all are meeting for the same purpose. Work with high morale, she asked. During this, the representatives of CCL, NTPC, ONGC, Adani, JSW company were present. Sadar sub-divisional officer Vidya Bhushan Kumar was also present in the meeting.
