Hazaribag, March 14: The flag of Lord Hanuman for Ram Navami in Hazaribagh is the pride of the district. The Mahaviri flag, which is hoisted in each roof of each house since generations is a symbol of national unity and mutual harmony as maximum tailors that make said flags are from Muslim communities.
Hazaribag is known as a communaly sensitive district wherein the administration makes full proof security arrangements during Ramnavami.
One of the famous shops named Veer Vastralaya in Bari Bazar mohalla has six tailors making mahaviri flags and they are third generation tailors doing working for the shop.
Shop owner Devendra Jain said that his father started this shop and now even his son assists him in this work. “If third generation of my family is doing this work then I can proudly say the same about tailors working for me,” he added.
One of the tailors, Gulam Jilani said that he feels satisfied and happy when customers purchase mahviri flag from the shop and praise him and others for their work. “Three days ago, we sold a mahaviri flag for Rs 21,000 to an akhara of Jamshedpur,” he informed.
“We supply Mahaviri flags to other districts as well as other states too. We even send it to abroad as well,” he confirmed.
Jilani said that his shop is a symbol of Hindu Muslim unity and added that machines never stop in his shop as they make flags of all religions and of all political parties round the year.
