Hazaribag: Mother of electrocuted child gets Rs 5 lakh, courtesy Jayant Sinha

Hazaribag, April 18: Five-year-old Priyanshu Kumar suffered severe burn injuries after coming in contact with a live wire. He succumbed to his injuries on Jan.7 this year.

The incident took place in Kusumba village of Katkamdag block. Mother of Priyanshu named Rajni Devi met Hazaribag MP Jayant Sinha and told him about the tragic death of her son. On Sinha’s initiative, the electricity department today gave a cheque of Rs.5lakh to her. Rajni said due to the fault of the electricity department, her son came in contact with the live wire and died.

On April.15, Sinha called a meeting with the electricity officials reviewing a few projects to improve the power condition in Hazaribag. During this meeting, he raised the issue of Priyanshu tragic death asking officials to give compensation to the family.

Officials assured Sinha of giving compensation to the family. Today the department handed over the cheque to Rajni. Sinha’s spokesperson Anil Sinha said the cheque was given to Rajni on the initiative of Hazaribag MP.  Rajni thanked Sinha for this help.
