Ramgarh, Nov 22: The tunnel work on the much-awaited Ranchi-Koderma rail line from Sidhwar to Sanki station is in the final stage and soon passenger trains will run on this route.
On Tuesday, Hazaribagh MP Jayant Sinha inspected the longest cut and cover tunnel out of the four tunnels. Its length is said to be 1.7 km. Along with him, many others also experienced the thrill of the train engine passing through the tunnel. On reaching the other end of the tunnel, the MP expressed happiness, describing it as a great experience.
The MP said that it is a pleasant feeling to see the dreams of the people of the area being fulfilled under the leadership of BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Railway officials including MP representatives Narayan Chand Bhowmik, Suman Singh, Anoop Thakur, and Sanjay Lala were also present along with the MP.
There are three normal and one cut-end tunnel from Sidhwar station to Sanki station. Sidhwar tunnel is about 650 meters, the Hehal tunnel is about 1100 meters, the cut and cover tunnel is 1.7 kilometres long and the length of the Baridih tunnel is 600 meters.
Construction of the cut and cover tunnel has faced a lot of delay due to technical reasons. However, now the work will be completed soon and within a few months, passenger trains will start operating on the route.
