VISHVENDU JAIPURIAR
Hazaribag, Dec 22: Police have so far failed to make policeman Parshu Ram speak the truth related to the brutal murder of his live-in partner Rinki Kumari on Tuesday at his official quarter in the police line of Hazaribag town. The police not interrogating Ram strictly has made many criticise them.
Ram, who earlier termed this as a case of suicide, is now saying that it is a murder case and involves someone he does not know.

Interestingly, his wife Sunita Devi, with whom Ram has six daughters and one son, died seven months ago. Those close to Ram said Sunita was upset with Ram’s relationship with Rinki and was in depression which resulted in her death. She had also complained to the police about Ram who developed a friendship with Rinki four years ago and started living with her in the official quarter two-three months ago.
Sources in the police department said that on receiving the news of Rinki’s death, Ram reached there and termed it as a case of suicide. When the officials confirmed that her throat was slit and there were marks of a sharp-edged weapon on her back, he immediately presented the murder story.
Many said that Ram who was on duty at the police line kept talking to other policemen to grab their attention at that time to aware everyone that he was present there. When the police team reached his quarter, he said he was on duty when the incident took place.
However, an investigating officer said that the blood of Rinki clotted which was hinting that she was murdered much before the time Ram was claiming to go on duty. It also appeared to the police that his children did not have a good relationship with Rinki. All these facts are now making the police probe this case from various angles.
On being contacted, Lohsigna police station officer-in-charge Arvind Kumar said they are working on all angles to take out the truth of this case.
