Hazaribag, Feb 14: Korrah police today arrested two for looting Rs 6000 from a college student, Gaurav Kumar Raj, on false charges of passing remarks on a girl. Korra police station officer-in-charge Uttam Tiwary confirmed the arrest.

The two accused have been identified as Ajeet Kumar Ram and Saurabh Mehta.

Sources said two days ago when Gaurav was present in Gandhi Maidan of Matwari locality, two youths approached him. They started threatening Gaurav by saying that he had passed wrong remarks to a girl.

When Gaurav denied it, they both forced him to accompany them to get this confirmed by the girl. Duo took Gaurav to a secluded area near Canary Pahad and after threatening him took away Rs 5000 in cash.

Gaurav also informed them that the amount was for his college fees but they did not listen. They even forced Gaurav to transfer Rs1000 through UPI and escaped from there.

Gaurav contacted Korra police and lodged an FIR in various sections of the IPC. Police started their investigation and soon reached Ajeet and Saurabh. Tiwary said the duo confessed their crime and was sent to jail.
