Hazaribag, Aug 28: Police have identified the three bodies found in the water of popular Chameli Jharna in Ichak last week. Police said the trio left home with their mother to meet their ‘mausi’ but later their bodies were found in the waterfall. Now their mother, 26-year-old Kunti Devi. is missing, police are working on various angles to crack this case.

The bodies were of 12-year-old Karan Kumar, 10-year-old Riya Kumari and 7-year-old Ayush Kumar. Police officials said the parents of the trio children are father Sunil Kumar and mother Kunti Devi, a resident of Karso village in Padma block.

Sources said Sunil, his father Dhaneshwar Ravidas and other relatives reached the mortuary at Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital and identified the three bodies.

Police officials said the family failed to say how the three children reached the Chameli Jharna and where is Kunti right now. They said they are working on various angles to reach the facts of this case. The officer said various angles included the abduction of Kunti by any criminal who killed the three children first, the second is either Kunti had killed the trio and escaped with someone and the third is the involvement of the family members.

Police officials said what is suspicious in the case is that the family members remained mum after Kunti left home on August 21. “If she didn’t return home or didn’t contact them then why the family never contacted the police on this serious issue”. “We will reach to the facts,” they added.
