Hazaribag police nab two drug peddlers with 53 gm brown sugar

Hazaribag, Dec 27: On a tip-off, Pelawal police nabbed two smugglers with 53 gram brown sugar on Tuesday. The seized consignment cost Rs 4 lakh in the market.

Police officials said they got a tip-off that two smugglers of Pelawal were trying to make a deal of 53 gram brown sugar. A team was constituted and sent to carry the raid resulting in the arrest of the two and the seizure of brown sugar.

The arrested two were identified as Faiz Ansari and Mohammad Rabbani a.k.a Faizal. Police now lodging an FIR against the duo under the NDPS act.

Officials said they are interrogating the duo to know from where they got this consignment of this brown sugar. Two days ago, a police team has recovered two kilogram of opium from three at a private bus stand which cost Rs 30 lakh in the market.
